Capitalism takes our time from us. Let’s take it back!

When we talk about capitalism, most of the time the talk is about money.

This focus is important because under capitalism, money is a measure of who has the most resources and power. Endless oceans of ink have been spilled on arguments by socialists and capitalist lackeys about wages and re-distribution and the economic fairness or lack thereof between the systems.

But there’s one thing that doesn’t get talked about very much: Time. It’s the one thing we’ll never get more of. It’s the one thing that can’t be re-distributed. It’s the one thing we all really want more of.

Capitalists and their lackeys take our time from us. And it’s time we took it back.

Every shift we work, every hour, takes us away from what we would rather be doing. It takes us away from our families, our loved ones, from being our true selves.

And they have gotten used to having their own way with OUR time. (Make no mistake, our time belongs to us as human beings. No one owns it.) Every shift is time theft. Every time your boss tries to guilt you out of taking your break because it’s “too busy”. Every time they try to subtly (or not) try to get you to cut your lunch break short. Every time they want you to work just a little bit longer off the clock.

Of course, officially there are laws, but let’s be real, they’re not really enforced.

And remember – they’re taking OUR time and getting more power from it. Amazon’s Jeff Bezos is one of the richest men on this planet. And he does it by working people to death in his facilities while not even giving them full-time benefits.

Foxconn is one of the biggest companies in the world. The electronics manufacturer has been accused of working its employees so much some commit suicide in despair. Now the company is opening a new factory in Wisconsin. As one of the largest business on Earth, it is getting away with taking so much of workers’ time they choose not to live.

Capitalists and their bootlickers LOVE to say that we ‘regular people’ have no right to ‘their money’.

But they get their money from our time. And we have EVERY right to our time.

So let’s start taking it back. Now.
